Uganda is setting a powerful example of how compassion and construction can go hand in hand. Through the USMID-AF (Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development - Additional Financing) initiative, the districts of Isingiro, Kamwenge, and Kiryandongo—home to both refugees and locals—have experienced remarkable change. Backed by the World Bank and steered by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, more than 100 people-focused infrastructure projects have taken shape. These aren’t just developments; they’re lifelines—roads, bridges, markets, playgrounds, and taxi parks built to serve and unite communities. It’s not just about building structures; it’s about building stronger, more resilient futures. .
